I’m Samuel Monger, and Semences Artisanales de la Mer is just me: a small-scale artisanal seed production operation in Quebec (Tête-à-la-Baleine, Mingan). This policy explains in simple terms what I do with your personal information when you shop on samdelamer.ca or get in touch with me.



What information do I collect?

  • Your contact details (name, shipping/billing address, email, phone number if provided).

  • Payment information (securely processed by Shopify Payments – I do not have access to your card details).

  • Your order history and preferences (what you view or purchase).

  • Technical information (IP address, device type, browser) to ensure the website works properly.

Where does this information come from?

  • Directly from you (when you place an order or write to me).

  • Automatically through the website (cookies, Shopify analytics).

  • From Shopify and its partners (e.g., payment processing, shipping).

Why do I use it?

  • To process your order, ship your seeds, and answer your questions.

  • To improve the website and provide a better experience (e.g., variety suggestions).

  • To comply with the law (invoices, taxes, etc.).

  • No aggressive marketing: I do not sell your data and I do not send unsolicited advertising.

Who do I share your information with?

  • Canada Post (for shipping).

  • Only if required by law (e.g., tax authorities).

Security

I take the protection of your data seriously. Shopify uses advanced security measures (encryption, PCI-DSS for payments). However, no system is completely foolproof: never share your passwords.


Retention

I keep your information only as long as necessary (e.g., 7 years for tax invoices), then I delete or anonymize it.


Changes

If I update this policy, I will change the date here and notify you if the changes are significant.
