Early Russian Cucumber
Cucurbitacea Cucumis Sativus
An excellent field cucumber. Since it is never bitter, it can be eaten as a gherkin or a cucumber. Rub lightly to remove the thorns. Produces vigorous and productive plants.
Can be sown directly after the last frost or in individual pots indoors 3 to 4 weeks in advance. Train vertically with supports or let it trail along the ground. In colder climates, greenhouse cultivation is recommended. Protect from frost in autumn to prolong the harvest.
