Snake Cucumber

Cucurbitacea Cucumis Melo

This is no ordinary cucumber. Belonging to the melon family, it is harvested before it develops its seeds, just like cucumbers. Never bitter, its long, striped fruits, about 45 cm in length, are delicious.

Sow indoors 3 to 4 weeks in advance. Growing in a greenhouse will produce better results. You can train it to climb or let it trail along the ground.
