Rouge Vif d'Etampes Squash

Cucurbitacea cucurbita maxima

A delicious storage squash. This old French variety produces large, flattened, slightly ribbed, orange-red fruits. The orange flesh is sweet and flavorful. Delicious in purées, soups, or pies. Stores for several months under good conditions.

Can be sown directly after the last frost or in individual pots indoors 3 to 4 weeks in advance. As it is a trailing plant, some stems can exceed 2 meters in length. Prefers soil rich in compost.
