Old England Kelway Peas
Fabaceae Pisum Sativum
An old variety of English pea, created in 1851. It has a pleasant, sweet flavor. It is appreciated as a shelling pea, or as a snap pea when young. It produces well and is well-suited to cool climates.
Sow directly outdoors as soon as all risk of hard frost has passed and the soil has warmed up sufficiently. Plant the seeds in rows, one every 10 cm, or in clusters of 3 or 4 every 30 cm. Each cluster needs approximately 1 square foot of space. Provide support.
